I found a great paragraph or two about Payson Wolfe and ironically he was the only native american in his area to resist democratic party thuggery back in 1863....

Very cool, and thanks for posting this for me. You have some noble and fearless blood in you NC.
At the beginning of the war The South would take anybody; Scot-Irish, Creoles, Mexicans, Indians. While the North seemed mighty picky and racial and stuff.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Indeed.
